Ranger Picks and TJRS Way Too Early
Way back in the pre season, the TJRS outriders confidently predicted the final table standings of the regular season. How did they do?
For the Eastern conference, Phil correctly predicted the Free Jacks being #1 and Anthem being #6. In what will be a theme, he over rated NOLA and under rated OGDC. Diamond Dave had 3 correct picks - NEFJ, Chicago and Miami, gave Anthem a bit too much credit and also had NOLA too high and DC too low. The Clown Prince of MLR managed to get the closest. 4 correct, just needing to flip NOLA and OGDC for a perfect score.
In the West, Bozo got San Diego correct at #5. Diamond Dave got Rugby LA in #3 and Phil also made predictions.
In the outrider and guests way too early predictions, Coach Mathie, Diamond Dave and Bozo6 were the closest to the 11-5 regular season, guessing 12-4. Bozo6 correctly predicted 13 of the 16 matches way too early - he failed to predict OGDC crushing his dreams and final NOLA match. Uncle Phil’s got 12 right, and despite Diamond Dave predicting a 3-3 start to the season, his crystal ball clouded over and he ended up with 11 right on the season.
In the Ranger Picks Way Too Early, Ranger Bunny stole the show - correctly predicting 11-5 and getting 14 correct - just being tripped up by the win at home against San Diego and the loss on the road in Miami.
3 other pickers also predicted 11-5. Ranger John and Tim Crowley each got 10 matches correct, Sabercat Diehard also managed to get 11-5 but only got 8 matches correct!
Special shout out to Hori Stylz who looked like they’d run away with this - 8 of the first 8 matches correctly predicted. But unfortunately fell in the 2nd half of the season landing on 13 correct with a “close, but no cigar” 10-6 predicted record.
Beside Hori Stylz and the aforementioned Bozo6, Ranger Erikk and yours truly also got 13 correct match predictions. Ranger Erikk close with a 12-4 prediction and my over enthusiastic 14-2 was not close enough.
Our Ranger Picks MLR 2025 Presented by TJRS Champion Freejack Fitzy had a 12-4 predicted record and got 11 correct. He must have improved week by week to have such a dominant win in the ranger picks main competition!
In terms of the dream away trip bonus question… Chicago was the clear winner, with Anthem and Miami tied for distant 2nd.
For myself and my 3 kids - we all picked different trips - Anthem, LA, Miami and Chicago. It’ll be fun to find out which of us gets our dream away trip first!
Ranger Picks Week 17 and Season Results
The regular season has come to a close for Ranger Picks MLR 2025 Presented by TJRS! Another year of fun has passed and now it’s just one form left for the post season, with 7 matches over 3 weekends left to play until the looooooooooong offseason.
How did this final week shape up?
Starting with Saturday, 97% picked NEFJ to win in NOLA, and 66% picked Utah to defeat the visiting LA.
Things were more split with only 52% picking San Diego to defeat the visiting OGDC, but on Sunday our players are very confident (97%) in Houston taking care of the visiting Anthem.
The final match, setting the final playoff picture is Miami traveling to Seattle with 76% favoring the home team
Our current leaders, OG Squad and reigning champ Beaver Paw picked much in line with the overall picture yet again for most of the matches, giving a 50/50 split on the LA @ Utah match and more strongly preferring San Diego and Seattle.
This week we had, I believe, a record 8 bonus points awarded (I didn’t check whether or not it is a record, it felt good to say it is!).

And for the full season, shocking nobody who’s been watching results, Freejack Fitzy, a member of our OG squad joins Beaver Paw in the Ranger Picks Hall of Champions - congratulations!
While I picked up a sole bonus point, I was still beaten by my son who did it with no bonus points. Ranger Lil Payne managed to beat her sister while continuing to vibe pick based on team logos.

Ranger Picks MLR 2025 PostSeason presented by TJRS
Welcome to the Ranger Picks MLR 2025 PostSeason presented by TJRS!
The week 17 results and regular season champion will be announced later on Monday.
Just like last year, we’re doing a single round of picks. You have to predict the entire post season - including the championship final score down the road from me in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
After you enter your name and email address, you will pick the winner of each conference semi final (or quarter final) just like a regular ranger picks week - 4 matches, 4 picks. You will receive 2 points for each one you correctly predict.
The next section is to predict the conference champions (semi finals). Pick 1 eastern conference team and 1 western conference team. You get 3 points for each one you correctly predict.
Next up is the championship. Pick one of the possible 8 teams. Get it right and you pick up 5 points.
Thats a total of 19 points up for grabs. Last year, Ranger Frank knocked it out of the park and grabbed all 19 points… but some familiar names were just 2 points behind - Freejack Fitzy and Beaver Paw both had 17.
Finally for the tie breaker, predict the final score. First tie breaker is getting the score right. If nobody gets it right then we look to the point difference, and finally just the winning score. If we still have a tie, we throw our hands up and declare co-champions (make sure this doesn’t happen)!

Ranger Picks Week 16 Results
Week 16 results are in, and due to a busy week I didn’t get chance to do the preview, so I’m going to do the preview and the result in the same post this week. There’s a very good chance the same thing will happen for week 17 when we will crown the Ranger Picks Presented by TJRS MLR 2025 Regular Season champion! (spoilers - it’s going to be very difficult to unseat Freejack Fitzy at this point unless he forgets to submit picks this week)
I’m planning the post season to be the same as last year. We reset all the scores and run it as a separate game. There will be one form predicting each of the conference semi finals, the conference champions and the MLR champion, with the tie break being predicting the championship score. Hoping to get that form out Monday morning.
Back to week 16!
For Friday, our pickers were completely split between SD and Miami, and unsurprisingly Utah were a heavy favorite (93%) over Anthem.
On to Saturday. LA were a decent favorite (60%) over DC, and Chicago expected (90%) to win at home over NOLA
The lone Sunday match had the home team NEFJ favored (79%) over Seattle. And on Wednesday Houston (75%) was expected to defeat Chicago.
The picks from our OG squad, reigning champ and current leaders once again matched the bigger trend. (UnforgivenPotato was late picking and forfeited picks for Friday)
No bonus points this week (everyone who got 5 correct also picked Houston to win in Chicago) but 7 pickers got 5 right.
Even though he only got 4 right, Freejack Fitzy continues to lead the standings. Definitely not a Ranger took advantage of UnforgivenPotato’s slip-up to jump into 3rd behind Pingree Panthers
Ranger Picks Week 17 form open
Eagle eyed readers will note that I failed to give the Week 16 preview post. My bad! At this point I will include that in the Week 16 results which will be Thursday morning!
But that’s not important right now! What is important is that the Week 17 form is open! Sadly Week 17 marks the end of our regular season. We also don’t have last week’s bye to the post season, but my current plan is similar to last year - a single form predicting the whole run of the post season through the Championship. That’ll be out as soon as we know what the post season lineup looks like!

Ranger Picks Week 15 Results
No bonus points this week, it seems everyone who picked OGDC also picked Houston but quite a few 4 point picks!
Freejack Fitzy extends his lead to 5 points - with only a couple of weeks remaining, will anyone catch him?

Week 16 is open - get your picks in! Form will close some time on Friday before the first match. We won’t have results until Thursday as we have a match on Wednesday to wait for.
Ranger Picks Week 15
Ranger Picks MLR Week 15 picks are in! A slightly delayed update again this week.
The pickers are not waffling between picks this week… every game has a solid favorite.
Starting off with our Friday night game, Houston took 74% of the picks coming into this week. Moving to Saturday, NEFJ has a stronger lead with 87% choosing the home team. This continues with the almost unanimous expectation that Chicago (97%) will snuff out Anthem’s final chance of a home win this season, and the road warriors Utah (83%) are expecting to triumph in NOLA. The Sunday match is heavily favored for the home team LA (74%)
Taking our weekly look at the OG squad, reigning champ Beaver Paw and the current leaders, we can safely predict not much movement amongst these players regardless of the field results!
A slight favoring of Houston and the lone OGDC pick are all the separates this particular group of players.

Ranger Picks Week 14 Results
Ranger Picks Week 14 results are in. No bonus points and judging by the large number of 1-2 points, quite a week of upsets!
Only 2 players got 4 out of the 5 matches correct, congrats FreeJack Fitzy and RuckNRoll!
This means that Fitzy is stretching out his lead, will anyone catch up in the remaining weeks?

Ranger Picks Week 14
A very late update for Ranger Picks Week 14 with some results already known. I would say this will never happen again but… I won’t.
New England Free Jacks were a huge favorite over Miami - 93% picking the visitors. Houston and San Diego were also favorites but with a smaller edge - 62% and 55% respectively. I’m sure you all know how those 3 turned out already ;)
Anthem continues to be an underdog - 80% favoring OGDC. And with now some serious post season implications, Chicago is an 80% favorite over LA.
As for our OG squad, Beaver Paw and current leaders… Freejack Fitzy went out on a limb for Miami, Beaver Paw zagged for Anthem and UnforgivenPotato was the lone picker for RFCLA. A healthy mix for the Utah and San Diego matches.
Week 15 form will open tomorrow, and I’ll post the results of Week 14 on Tuesday.
Ranger Picks Week 13 Results
Ranger Picks Week 13 results are in. Some people might say this was a week of upsets, but 10 players managed to pick 4 out of the 6 matches correctly. 2 got 5 right… which left Ranger Lil Payne picking up the lone bonus point having selected all 6 winners (her vibe picking paid off).
That massive points haul catapulted her into the overall top 10, tied with Ranger X, Ranger Kathy and Bozo6 at 7th. For those keeping track at home, I’m trailing behind all of my kids.
Don’t forget Week 14 form is open. Only 4 weeks left for this MLR 2025 regular season, we can expect things to get spicy as teams fight for the remaining post season spots and those all important home matches in the post season!
Ranger Picks Week 14 form open
Gooooooood morning Rangers! Ranger Picks Week 14 form is now open. We’re still waiting for the results from tonight’s Seattle @ Utah and tomorrow’s NOLA @ OGDC matches before we can publish week 13 results, but spoiler alert - only 3 players are still in a bonus point hunt!
Ranger Picks Week 14 has matches Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday so we’ll be looking at results next Tuesday after we open week 15!
Ranger Picks Week 13
Ranger Picks Week 13 is already under way, so let’s jump right in.
The home teams for Miami @ NOLA and Chicago @ NEFJ are both strongly favored in our picks. It’s a closer selection between Houston and San Diego with the Sabercats just squeezing ahead.
Anthem has again lost its support amongst our players with 97% picking LA to win. The home teams for Seattle @ Utah and NOLA @ OGDC are also strongly favored… with a massive 93% picking Utah over the reigning Western Conference champions.
Our OG Squad, Beaver Paw and current leaders have a slightly more favorable view of Miami with 4-3 picking the Sharks, otherwise the picks are in line with the bigger picture with unanimous picks for LA, Utah and OGDC!
The NOLA @ OGDC match happens on Tuesday, so don’t expect results before Wednesday. We’ll open Ranger Picks Week 14 on Monday as always.

Ranger Picks Week 12 Results
Ranger Picks Week 12 results are out (and week 13 is open)!
With LA and Seattle managing to beat OGDC to the first tie of 2025, there were no bonus points available, and the highest achievable score in Ranger Picks presented by TJRS for week 12 was 4 points. 4 players got the 4 points available:
Finally hearing from our Reigning Champ Beaver Paw, that guy who doesn’t like being a ranger, and 2 of the Payne kids!
Not too much movement at the very top of the table though… we need to try harder!
As mentioned above, week 13 is open - and it brings the return of the mid week madness. We have a Friday night match as well as Monday and Tuesday nights… so we’ll be opening week 14 before getting results from week 13.

Ranger Picks Week 12
Ranger Picks Week 12 (which is slightly different from MLR Week 12 due to how we handle the mid week madness)… is upon us! Sneaking in this update just before the first match of the week - LA traveling to Seattle with 2/3rds expecting the visitors to win. Utah @ OGDC also has the visitors as favorites with 82%.
The first predicted home win is Free Jacks over Houston - with the home team at 79%. Miami traveling to Chicago has the sharks the underdogs at an even 25%
The heaviest favorites this week are San Diego with a 90% favored win over the visiting Gold.
The current leaders, OG squad and reigning champ Beaver Paw have LA a much closer favorite, Utah pretty close to the bigger pool at 75%, almost unanimous for the Free Jacks with just UnforgivenPotato picking Houston, an exact match for the full pool with 75% taking Chicago and a unanimous San Diego pick.

Week 11 results are in. 3 bonus picks including a first one in 2025 for Dingo - congrats.
Otherwise not too much change at the top of the season table - FreeJack Fitzy, Pingree Panthers and UnforgivenPotato continue to pull in great results and stretching their leads - although the bonus points are mixing up the order there.

Ranger Picks Week 12 form is open! We do not have results from week 11 yet as we still have a match on Wednesday to get through! Stay tuned for a results post probably on Thursday but definitely before the week 12 form closes on Friday!
Looking at the calendar, Week 12 has a match on Friday (so the form MUST CLOSE ON FRIDAY) and then 4 matches on Sunday! No mid week matches, so we should have results and Week 13 forms next Monday :)

Ranger Picks Week 11
Week 11 picks are in! With one match on Wednesday, we will again be opening Week 12 on Monday while still waiting for week 11 results!
6 matches and no unanimous picks across all pickers. A pretty heavy bias (87%) towards Houston picking off OGDC, 70% are predicting Utah over Chicago - a reaction to Seattle defeating the Hounds last week? The closest match for Saturday is LA hosting San Diego - just 44% going for the home team.
Sunday brings another tight match - Seattle (53%) traveling to NOLA with a thinnest margin this week… followed by Anthem traveling to Miami, once again losing the faith of the pickers (87% choosing Miami).
The last match for our week 11 is San Diego traveling to Utah, with 80% picking Utah for this match - perhaps forgetting Utah has been better on the road thus far this season with 5 of their 6 wins coming from the road, and both their losses at home.
How did our OG squad, reigning champ and current leaders pick?
Overall very closely matching the bigger picture, but unanimous for Utah over Chicago and Miami over Anthem.

Week 10 results are in. Congrats to Ranger Travis for their first bonus point week. Ranger Lil Payne and Ranger Frank close behind with 6 out of the 7 matches correctly predicted. Ranger Frank let down by the Legion, Ranger Lil Payne disappointed by Chicago.
A close battle for the lead developing between UnforgivenPotato, FreeJack Fitzy and Pingree Panthers with just 2 points separating the top 3, but with almost half the matches left, anything can happen. Ranger Abi holding onto a top 10 position but Diamond Dave has caught up.
